I'm a black grill from Memphis, a third generation of the fire my grandfather lit in his backyard in 1962. I took to barbecue as faith-it was patience, it was ritual, it was the Sunday afternoon smell that still makes me miss my grandfather. My content is slow, composed and rooted in the Southern black barbecue tradition. I don't rush to make brisket, I don't play for trophies, I don't time it by the minute-I measure it by "I'll know when it's time. I'm here to tell you that grilling isn't about the best grill or the most expensive smoker. It's about knowing your temperature, respecting your ingredients, and passing on something that lasts longer than you.
